A Bundle of Joy: Untold Tales of Motherhood and Oppression

Angela C. Wild

 

Exhibition Dates:  Thursday 23 February - Tuesday 4 April 2017

 

Political artist Angela C. Wild is using art as a way to explore the myths around motherhood to reach out

to isolated mothers. Her searing indictment of the way society treats mothers explores how the reality of

women's experiences clashes with false societal messages of 'perfection' and domestic bliss.

A series of inclusive workshops for adults with a range of support needs as part of our two year 'Reaching Out, Drawing In' programme funded by Arwain.

 

Terri Sweeney led sessions to explore print-making techniques using a variety of materials including inks, foams and natural materials.

Join artist Jane Mason to explore spring craft techniques including willow weaving and glass fusing to create a delightful range of spring inspired crafts.

A series of inclusive workshops for those living with Dementia and memory challenges with carers, family and support staff, as part of our two year 'Reaching Out, Drawing In' programme funded by Arwain.

 

Join artist Geraint Edwards to explore collage, watercolour techniques, wire and clay sculpture.  These workshops provide opportunities to meet socially, and engage in a range of artistic activities designed to suit a wide range of abilities.

The Bird House - this is a work in progress as Celf-Able's artists make an installation and video piece building on from their highly succesful 'The Bird Company' performance at ArtWorks Cymru conference.

Workshop Dates: 2, 9, 16 & 23 May 2017

 

A series of inclusive workshops for adults with a range of support needs aged 50+ as part of the Age Cymru Gwanwyn Festival of the Arts for older people.

 

Join us as we go on a train journey to the Museum of Lost Content, and collect images along the way.  Explore the images to create a body of work to exhibit, such as screen printing, painting and collage.

A series of  workshops giving women a safe space to map a personal walking journey through Powys. The workshops will focus on gathering materials through group discussions and activities, to encourage them to keep journals or sketchbooks and produce a series of poems and word image collages. Cost £3.50 per session

A series of inclusive workshops for adults with a range of support needs

 

Exploring fears and dreams with puppeteer and sculptress Jo Munton of Vagabondi Puppets.

Personal Mapping

'Helen Ivory'

 

Ivory is an English poet, artist, tutor and editor, winning an Eric Gregory Award in 1999.  She is an experienced creative writing tutor and workshop leader and has taught both undergraduates and in adult education for around ten years.  Her fourth Bloodaxe Books collection is Waiting for Bluebeard (2013)

 

Ivory's 3 week residency will take place during May, June and September 2017.

 

The residency aims to give space to artists to gather materials through group discussions and activities, to encourage them to keep journals or sketchbooks and produce a series of poems and word image collages that map a personal journey.

 

The residency and workshops will culminate in an Exhibition and Live Reading taking place on 6 September 2017.
