We support some of the most disadvantaged members of the community to have a creative life, and you could be helping groups to explore design and sculpture this Spring.

Artists in Residence:

We have ongoing opportunities to become our ‘artist in residence’. Celf provides accommodation at our flat in a converted Victorian building, usually with some nice bits and pieces in the fridge to welcome you. ONGOING OPPORTUNITIES

Celf o Gwmpas is looking for two new people to fill exciting roles and join our busy team at our base in Llandrindod Wells.

 

Development Officer (21 hours per week)

 

The post will be a part-time fixed term contract for a period of 24 months, starting early in 2017.  Celf o Gwmpas wishes to engage an individual with knowledge and experience of Arts, Health and Wellbeing to manage our ‘Reaching Out, Drawing In’ programme and focus on the research and development of longer term strategies for working in the Arts and Health sector and identify appropriate funding streams to support any new work.

 

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills, be able to build and maintain partnerships and have experience of working within the Arts and Health sector.  He or she is expected to show a commitment to equal opportunities and diversity and to the aims and objectives of Celf o Gwmpas.

The role will involve liaison with a range of venues, organisations and individuals in the arts and health sectors. The project will be delivered through a programme of outreach work, workshop sessions, exhibitions and residencies.

 

The rate of pay for the work is £12.33 per hour (actual salary per annum £13,464.36)

Board of Trustees (unpaid)

 

We are currently looking to appoint a new member to the Board of Trustees. Celf o Gwmpas creates projects, exhibitions and residencies that open up opportunities for participation, developing artistic practice and supporting social inclusion.

 

Celf o Gwmpas has a strong commitment to inclusion, participation and diversity. Applications are particularly welcome from candidates who will bring additional diversity to the board, and will complement the skill set of existing trustees.

 

Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate strengths in working within the arts (music, literary or visual)

 

All candidates will need to be willing to work at a strategic level as a non-executive. Celf expects all trustees to support the organisation, staff and other board members.

Volunteer Opportunties for the 'In Residence' Project

 

Throughout 2017, Celf o Gwmpas are offering a variety of volunteer opportunities for our latest Arts Council of Wales funded project, 'In Residence.'

 

There will be opportunities throughout the year to volunteer alongside Celf's current artist in residence, providing artist support for both the resident artist and learning disabled artists during workshop sessions.

 

Further, there is an opportunity for additional training and continued professional development.

4 x 1 Month residencies at Celf o Gwmpas, Llandrindod Wells in partnership with Disability Arts Cymru

 

Celf o Gwmpas is offering 4 x 4 week residencies in partnership with Disability Arts Cymru (DAC) http://www.disabilityartscymru.co.uk that are designed to support Wales based disabled artists to develop new work.

 

The residencies will provide the time and support for artists to focus exclusively upon their own practice. The 4 artists will each have the opportunity to spend time with ground-breaking support organisation Celf o Gwmpas at their base in Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and focus on research, experimentation and the development of new work. The successful applicants will form part of a national and international residency project supporting disabled artists working in a wide variety of art forms.

 

Residencies will be taking place in October, November, December 2017 and January 2018: dates tbc.

 

Selection will be made on the basis of a proposal. We wish to support artistic research with the emphasis on ambition, risk-taking and experimentation.

 

The residency opportunity is supported by Arts Council Wales.

 

The package includes:

 

•£1,000 each to cover artist fees, travel and subsistence costs

•Accessible self-contained accommodation

•Shared studio facilities at Centre Celf

•Opportunity to show work in progress

•Advice and guidance on future opportunities, including consideration for Celf o Gwmpas exhibition programme.
