Gosia Jones

Gosia Dabrowska-Jones is a self-taught mixed media artist based in Wales, with over 30 years of creative practice.

Born and raised in Poland, she discovered her passion for art at an early age, finding inspiration in animals and the world around her.
Having lived in Wales for over 20 years, she continues to explore the beauty of nature in all its forms through drawing, painting, and artisan candle making.

With her scientific background, natural curiosity, and working intuitively across a rich variety of materials, she embraces experimentation at an almost molecular level as the core of her artistic process. She works in a wide range of media, from graphite, charcoal, pastels and coloured pencils, water soluble graphite and crayons, to watercolours, acrylics, ink, and even coffee! She feels happiest when she can combine several of these in one mixed-media piece.

Gosia’s work is deeply inspired by natural world, symbolism and their connection with human beings. Through layered textures, detail and atmospheric compositions, Gosia creates artwork that captures not only the physical presence of her subjects but also their emotional essence and vitality. Her paintings and drawings invite viewers to pause and embrace a world of connection and imagination.

Her work has been exhibited locally and featured in the SAA “Paint and Create Magazine”. She was also the SAA ‘Artist of The Year 2022’ finalist. With an ever-evolving artistic practice and an enduring curiosity for new techniques, Gosia continues to push creative boundaries while producing deeply emotive and inspiring work that resonates with audiences.
