Jeannie McConville
Jeannie McConville is a potter and ceramic artist who creates her vessels and forms using a variety of hand build techniques. She has spent decades exploring and experimenting with clay bodies and making methods and has now honed her craft to create elegantly shaped vessels from earthenware and porcelain. Jeannie’s work is deeply inspired by nature, plants and flowers. A love of gardening and many countryside walks have given infinite inspiration when decorating her work. She frequently hand paints representations of wild plants, flowers and seed heads that she has observed out in the natural world and often uses the actual plants themselves to imprint decorative inlays into the clay surface. Jeannie has been a hobby potter for decades whilst pursuing her career as a teacher and examiner of A Level Psychology as well as raising her family. She also completed a HND in Fine Art at Chichester University which helped to further develop her ceramic knowledge and craft. Jeannie has recently moved to Wales with her artist husband and her children in order to pursue a career in pottery and is currently setting up her studio in Llandrindod Wells.
