Lilly and her changing face

Today Sofia came to our ‘Changing Faces’ morning workshop for young people with local artist Rachael Blakeway.

Sofia created a whole story around her face who is called Lilly. Lilly is a rock star who has a pet crow (note the black feather in Lilly’s headdress) called Rocky who can turn into a human on stage and sings with her. Lilly doesn’t like to see people being hurt she turns into an evil person and protects the good person and punishes the bad.

The photos above show the process of changing the face, from cardboard base, to decorated face. Then Sofia with Lilly and her ‘nice’ & ‘evil’ faces. The eyes and mouth can be changed depending on how Lilly is feeling.

Next Tuesday 26th August we having 3D Paper Craft with artist Jane Mason. Come and join us, 10.30am - 12.30pm for adults with learning disabilities and their carers and 1.30pm - 3.30pm for 8 - 16 year olds.
